Math Homework for 3/22-3/26

I did this activity with Gabriel, my step son, over
Spring Break. He really enjoyed it and he made
a cat, the cat's food bowl, and a bird -- with
a little guidance from me on how to arrange
the shapes. Kain got to observe :)

Use different shaped papers to make fun toys with your child. A paper square can be used to make a simple origami dog. Use a triangular piece of paper to make a boat. Or add paper arms and legs to a round paper plate to make a puppet. Just have fun and be creative! :)

Notes from your teacher:

Please ask your child, or their teacher, if they are in need of new supplies (crayons, markers, glue, pencil box, colored pencils). The extra set of markers and crayons were passed out in January. However, some students did not have an extra set or their extra set is already worn out. Colored pencils were not on the original supply list, however the kiddos really love using them.

The class has really been into sharing the books that they have written and illustrated, as well as reading books from home to class. I absolutely LOVE their enthusiasm and creativity. If your child has a book that they would like to share please practice reading it with them to help ensure their success when they read it to the class.

CAE Talent Show

Faculty parody skit starring Mrs. Stevens, my bff, and myself

All Reading Buddies

C-Boyz Hip Hop

Reading Buddies

I am so thrilled with how my reading buddies program (I feel like this isn't the correct word but I can't think of another to describe it) has worked out. Trey's reading buddy, Jake, was in the talent show today playing guitar. When he was done, he walked down to the audience and gave Trey his pick. Today, when they came to read I saw that Evan was sitting in his buddy's lap while they read together. It just makes me really happy how successful it has turned out. The 4th graders truly love their kindergarten buddies and vice versa. Mia told me that she can't wait until she is in 4th grade so she can be a reading buddy. It just brings a smile to my face!! They are more than just reading buddies, they are buddies!

Awesome Alliteration

Ana came up to me today holding the book, Big Bill's Bed. She said, "Look, the title is alliteration."

Garrett brought in a ball for Show n Tell and when he showed it to me this morning he said, "It can be alliteration - bubbly bouncy ball."

Rodeo Day - 3/10

Wednesday, March 10th is Rodeo Day (from 8:15-10:15). What does the mean?? It means that your child gets to come to school dressed up in their best cowboy/cowgirl clothes. Cowboy hats, shirts, boots, chaps, stick horses, bandanas, spurs, lariats, etc are allowed (toy guns are not allowed). After announcements, we will parade around the school to show off our awesome rodeo outfits. The parade will be followed by the Kindergarten Rodeo. Different activities will be set up in the teacher's rooms for the children to participate in - parents are more than welcome to attend. So, join of us for a day of rodeo fun!

Ana and Citlali are "sisters" -- twins for today!

Kylee traces Garrett's foot so he can turn it into a patterned fish.

and how fish use them as protection.
