Oh, the Places You Can Go

Yesterday, Dr. V (one of the head people in the district) read Dr. Seuss's Oh, the Places You Can Go to our class. I asked the kids where they would like to go and here are some of their answers:

Alexa - a haunted house
Bilaal - Africa
Evan - Walmart (ha!!!)
Alysha and Anthony - Cici's Pizza
Kristy - the park
CJ - Chuck E Cheese
Mohammad - home center
Kylee - Washington DC
Citlali - Max and Ruby's house
Xtina - California (to see her brother)
Trey - Georgia

I LOVED their literal answers :)

Newsletter Week 25

School to Home Connection
(Week 25)
Focus letter: Bb
This week’s password: look & big

This week, we will begin our Dr. Seuss unit. We will be looking for rhyming words, prepositional phrases, and action words in his stories. It’d be a great idea to check out Dr. Seuss books at your local library this week. In math, we will begin Unit 11: Patterns. At home, have your child create patterns or look for patterns. Then they can extend the pattern. In social studies, we will begin our Texas Unit.

Dr. Seuss Homework

Today we read Oh, the Thinks you Can Think! by Dr. Seuss. The homework assignment is to go home and think -- put that imaginationm to work! Draw a picture of what you saw when you were thinking and write at least three sentences about it.
