Rock Experiments

The Fish Table compares their rock's sizes.

Rocks have been around FOREVER. So we got to travel back
to the prehistoric times and role play.

The Frog Table put their rocks in order from largest to smallest.

Anthony feels his smooth rock.

Evan dips his rock in the murky water.

One of the tests was to dip their rocks in water to see if it changed
the rock's color and also to see if it changed the water's color.

Chris fills in his Rock Characteristic's Chart

Christina checks to see if her rock weighs more than, less than, or exactly one pound.

No one found a rock a that weighed more than 1lb.

Citlali compares the 1lb weight to her rock so she
can make a prediction about her rock's weight.

Inspecting the geos, crystals, and rocks.

I have to admit, they really loved the two days we talked about rocks. It turned into a week long lesson. I think I might have a lot of future geologist in this class!!
