Pumpkin Experiment: Sink or Float?

Our class joins Mrs. William's and Mrs. Ogunleye's class

for an experiment. Will a pumpkin sink or float in water?
De'Marion and Kamryn makes predictions (educated guess)
about if they think certain objects will
sink or float. After each object was tested,
they had to record their answers and check to see
if their predictions were correct.


Ah ha! The tiny pumpkin that Brianne brought
to school floats!

Will the larger pumpkin that Mrs. William's brought in float?

Or will it sink?

The kids were amazed that the larger pumpkin floated.

Pumpkins are dense and that is why they float.
