Newsletter Weeks 35-36

Kindergarten Newsletter
Weeks 35 - 37
May 17 th-June 4th
Our theme for the next two weeks is fossils. We will focus on dinosaur fossils. Your child will even get to make their own fossil imprint! It would be a great idea to take your child to the Arlington Library to check out books on dinosaurs.

In math, we are starting Topic 16: Graphing. Have your child poll family members to find out their favorite fruit, sport, leisure activity, etc. Help your child make a simple graph that depicts the findings.

School to Home Connection:
Review all letters and their sounds. Review all passwords.
Important Dates:

5/19: Spring Creek Family Night (5-9pm) @ Mansfield location
5/21: Field Day
5/31: No School
6/4: Last day of school & Kindergarten Celebration Program
FIELD DAY:

We encourage you to come to Field Day on May 21st. This is an all day event and it will be an exciting day that your child will not forget. Siblings not attending CAE, are not allowed to come. This is a special day for CAE students only.
Please make sure your child dresses appropriately for the day, ie: tennis shoes, shorts, Field Day shirt/CAE shirt/ or a purple shirt.
Kindergarten Celebration
Most of you are aware that on Friday, June 4th we will be having our Annual Kindergarten Celebration. The program starts at 9am in the cafeteria. It is our hope that each child will have at least one grown up attending this ceremony. The children are working hard on a special program. It usually gets crowded in the cafeteria, we suggest that you arrive early so that you can check in at the office and get a good seat. Don’t forget your camera because there will several opportunities to take pictures of your precious child.
This is a normal school day. Please make sure your child arrives by 8am. After the program, all parents will be invited back to their child’s classroom. Your teacher will be giving you a packet that will include the following: workbooks, certificates, report card and ideas for how to work with your child this summer. If you have any questions related to the last day of school or any of the other special dates listed above, please contact your teacher.
