On Wednesday, we read the very silly book "Skeleton Hiccups" about a skeleton who cannot get rid of his hiccups. When we were done, we discussed different methods of getting rid of the hiccups. Then each child drew and painted their own skeleton and came up with advice on how they think he should get rid of his hiccups. We turned the finished products into a class book. Matthew illustrated the cover for us.
Congrats to Sandy for winning out of all of the kindergarten students in the "Science Is..." poster contest. Her name was announced over the announcements and she received a special science experiment prize!
"Science Is... bats, trees, flowers, arachnids, insects, weather and animals"
Our class joins Mrs. William's and Mrs. Ogunleye's class
for an experiment. Will a pumpkin sink or float in water? De'Marion and Kamryn makes predictions (educated guess) about if they think certain objects will sink or float. After each object was tested, they had to record their answers and check to see if their predictions were correct.
Ah ha! The tiny pumpkin that Brianne brought to school floats!
Will the larger pumpkin that Mrs. William's brought in float?
Or will it sink?
The kids were amazed that the larger pumpkin floated.
Kamryn is the middle child. She has a big sister, a little sister and a brother on the way. Kamryn loves to eat fish sticks for dinner. Her favorite color is green.
